Holden engine mount repairs
The engine mounts for early holden commodore motors commonly wear out with age. They are not difficult to replace yourself. You will know it has worn if as you will feel the motor moving around a bit as you take off round a corner, and will hear extra noises. While I drove my vk around like this for a while before i realised, it probably isnt too safe, if you broke another engine mount you could be in trouble.
I bought replacement 202 commodore engine mount from repco. Then it is just a matter of putting a jack under the motor, lifting it a bit to take the weight off the mounts, unbolt the old mount and if the holding the motor at the right height the old engine mount should come out easily. Note the order of the washers on the bolts etc. Then slot in your new engine mount, again if the jack is supporting the motor it should go in easily, so should the bolts, if they dont, adjust the jack till they do. You must do these bolts up really really tight. This can be difficult if you dont have the right tools as they are hard to get too, especially if you have extractors. But if you don't the nuts will come lose and the bolts may fall out.
Once everything is back in tight, slowly lower the jack and make sure everything is secure. Retighten the bolts. She should all be apples, but it could be worth checking the tension of the bolts after a week or a montth. I lost a nut and bolt coz it wasnt tight enough the first time i did it.
